Ultrasound 2....

Image
This morning we had our 2nd ultrasound! Blaise, Bryce, and Emma came along to see and baby Swiss is doing great and growing! He/she is measuring right on target at 7 weeks 3 days and his heartbeat was 131 today. He/she’s head is bigger than it’s body right now and kind of looks like a little tree frog in the ultrasound. We got to see the heartbeat flicker on the screen and the kids thought that was really neat. I’m feeling good! Nauseous comes in the afternoon/evening hours and when I wake up I’m super hungry!! Going to the bathroom a little more than usual and my boobs are now starting to get really sore, which was my first sign I was pregnant with Bryce and Emma. My backside is not doing so great! I now have some bruises from the injections and looking forward to 1/29 when we can officially stop meds. Blaise will be leaving on New Years' to work some hurricane claimes in the panhandle so I’m going to have to learn how to do the injections myself in the next day or two. I don’...

Ultrasound 1....

Well, it was a VERY wet morning, but we had our 1st ultrasound this morning and we have a super strong little one in there! I am beyond excited for all of us. What a special Christmas blessing!! I was full of excitement last night and this morning was wide awake at 5am. The drive this morning was nasty and I was really hungry before the appointment. 😋 I made it there a little early and once I got in and had my paperwork filled out they called my name to go back. I wasn't able to videotape the ultrasound which kind of bummed me out but as soon as she put the wand on my belly we could see the sac and little "pea". We also saw a strong heartbeat and a little flutter. 💓 She took lots of measurements and pictures and looked for more than 1 babe, but we didn't see any. Heart-rate is 132 bpm. I get to go back and have 2 more ultrasounds at 7 and 8 weeks and we will be able to watch the little one grow before we graduate from the clinic and I am released to my own OBG...

Shots, Shots, Shots...

I have shared with some friends some funny stories the past few weeks and some said, "you need to add this to your blog..." The shots are going really well, which I am so glad because I was the most nervous about that part. Some I feel and some I don't! I think we have a good routine down now that works well. I use a heating pad for a little bit beforehand and warm up my booty and the syringe, Blaise does the injection and Emma is my band-aid girl, then I warm it again afterward. The second night of shots, which was Blaise's first time doing it was on Thanksgiving and we were out black Friday shopping. I told Blaise we could do it in the car at the Target parking lot but he said no, let's go into the family bathroom. We walked in and there was a State Trooper at the front doors who watched us walk into the bathroom together. This one took a little longer than normal because it was Blaise's first try. When we walked out of the bathroom together 15 mins late...

3,136...

Yesterday, I had my 2nd BETA blood test to check my levels and make sure things were increasing. They like it to rise by 66% every 2 days. Another super quick appointment and then a long day of waiting.  I felt pretty nauseous at lunch and had to go for a walk in the cold air. I felt a lot better afterward. After school, I went and got my hair cut and styled to keep my mind occupied. Then, I went and got the kids from school and waited to hear from San Diego. Around 4:30, we got a message from our IPs saying the email came and good news! As that message came through, I was reading the email from San Diego and saw the number 3,136 in bold!!!   "I have more wonderful news!   Jenna’s  pregnancy hormone level is rising nicely, and the value is now  3136 !  This is an excellent value, and we are thrilled for everyone!" So reading that BIG number was super exciting and my first thought was WOW, we are for sure pregnant and maybe it's TWINS!...

Results are in...

It has been an exciting but long week of waiting and anxiousness!!! This morning I went for my blood test to check my BETA HGC levels......... My IPs are so anxious and told me I could try calling our local clinic to see if they would tell us the #'s so we didn't have to wait so long to hear from San Diego. I gave them a call around 2pm and guess what??? The office closes at noon on Fridays. Had a minor heart attack thinking "oh no, I bet my results did not get sent over." I messaged my IPs and asked if they could send an e-mail to San Diego, they did and our nurse is out of the office this week. 😓 IPs called the clinic and within 10 minutes we got an email from San Diego. "I am very excited to share the news that your surrogate’s pregnancy hormone value is positive at  421 , which is a great value!  We look forward to receiving the 2nd BHCG test result, which  Jenna   will schedule for   12/11/2018 ; we would like to see a rise of 66% every 2 days...
