Matched....

Today we were officially matched by the agency. This will be the start of something so great and life-changing. We have been talking on a messaging app every day and plan to skype on Sundays to continue getting to know each other and discuss the future. We have been matched with the best couple and can’t wait to help them add a second child to their family. We have gained new friends and extended family! This is just the start of a long adventure!
We also shared the news with our immediate family today and on Monday, I will take a 350 psychology test to make sure I am mentally ready for this journey. The next step after this will be to get legally cleared and medically screened.

BOY or GIRL?????

Well, last night I had my 1st dream about the baby. I dreamed that we got our test results and found out baby Swiss was a boy. Today,  I stalked my email hoping the results would come. Baby's mom was excited but thought it might be too early and I was being super optimistic. I decided to call Quest while I was sitting in the car loop and they said, "yeah, we have the results and they were sent to your dr. yesterday." I told him I was signed up to get an email but had not gotten one yet so he said he would send them right over. 10 mins later my email dinged and then I was scared to look. I pulled them up and everything is PERFECT, normal, and negative. WE HAVE A HEALTHY BABY, which is of course most important. I quickly let the parents know all was good and we would call them in a few to reveal the gender. They were so happy and excited! 36 days or LESS...

The official countdown and Swiss baby watch are on...We are just 36 days or less from meeting a special little king! Thursday, I went for a weekly checkup and our first stress test. I have never had to do the stress test monitoring before so did not really know what to expect or what they were looking for. The reason my Dr. has us doing it is that baby boy is measuring above average and because IVF is a little riskier and my dr. just wants to be sure we are up to date and extra observant. Ultrasound looked great although he is still head and face down and very low so we probably will not be able to get any more good photos of him. So, we headed to another room for the non-stress test. I was hooked up and they told me I would sit for 20 mins while they recorded the baby's movements and how his heartbeat responded to that. Phase 2....

Moving along! Phase 2! My application was approved and over the last 2 weeks, I have filled out a lot of information and created our family profile. I had a call today with the agency to go over the process and the next steps while the agency starts to obtain all my medical records and insurance/personal information. Boy, I had no idea how much goes into all of this but will be so worth if it all works out!!! I applied 2 weeks ago with the mindset of; if it works awesome and what an honor it will be but if it doesn't then that's ok, it wasn't meant to be.
