Update...1 year later

Hello! I decided to write a little update since I have not done so since our Swiss family left us back in August and thought today would be special because 1 year ago today Blaise and I were out in San Diego completing the embryo transfer and picking up Little Louie to take care of for the next 9 months.

Who would have thought I would be where I am now. Thanks to that little boy, I now have a new career with the surrogate agency we worked with and I could not be happier! Yes, I work a lot more hours and don’t have the perks of teacher/holiday breaks anymore but I enjoy what I do now and to me, that’s more important and I don’t feel like I need a break from my job now. Plus, working from home isn’t so bad either! 😉 I love meeting new families, surrogates, and egg donors and helping them make their dreams come true of having/expanding their families and watching and hearing their excitement and anxiousness that I know so well! In a few weeks, Blaise and I will get to travel to Boston for a few days and I’ll get to meet all the great new coworkers I work with in person rather than through a computer screen.

Our Swiss family is doing awesome! I get photos and updates every few days. Louie is growing and getting quite the personality. He is always smiling and happy in every photo I get. He’s also really long! David loves his little brother and his new bike! And mama couldn’t be happier and enjoying every day with her boys! She looks great and seems to have to be a mom of 2 down like a pro!!
We are also in the process of planning our trip to Switzerland this summer. I can’t believe my kids' first flight will be overseas!! We cannot wait for this incredible experience and of course seeing our Swiss family again and making more memories together. We miss them like crazy and if there was anything I could change it would be for us to be closer to one another. I’m so so happy for them and knowing we will always be connected makes it so easy. They are the sweetest people and so deserving!

It also looks like I may see my Swiss sis sooner than I thought as we are talking about meeting up in San Diego after the new year to start the process for BABY SWISS #3!!! 🤗 Stay tuned and enjoy some photos of these sweet people....

BOY or GIRL?????

Well, last night I had my 1st dream about the baby. I dreamed that we got our test results and found out baby Swiss was a boy. Today,  I stalked my email hoping the results would come. Baby's mom was excited but thought it might be too early and I was being super optimistic. I decided to call Quest while I was sitting in the car loop and they said, "yeah, we have the results and they were sent to your dr. yesterday." I told him I was signed up to get an email but had not gotten one yet so he said he would send them right over. 10 mins later my email dinged and then I was scared to look. I pulled them up and everything is PERFECT, normal, and negative. WE HAVE A HEALTHY BABY, which is of course most important. I quickly let the parents know all was good and we would call them in a few to reveal the gender. They were so happy and excited! 36 days or LESS...

The official countdown and Swiss baby watch are on...We are just 36 days or less from meeting a special little king! Thursday, I went for a weekly checkup and our first stress test. I have never had to do the stress test monitoring before so did not really know what to expect or what they were looking for. The reason my Dr. has us doing it is that baby boy is measuring above average and because IVF is a little riskier and my dr. just wants to be sure we are up to date and extra observant. Ultrasound looked great although he is still head and face down and very low so we probably will not be able to get any more good photos of him. So, we headed to another room for the non-stress test. I was hooked up and they told me I would sit for 20 mins while they recorded the baby's movements and how his heartbeat responded to that. Another Week Down...

Week 35!!!! This past week I have had a lot stronger contractions, mostly at night time that will wake me up. My sleeping is off and on...some nights it’s great and I’ve even slept in until 9-10am and some nights it’s terrible and I’m wide awake until after midnight or for 2-3 hours in the night. So, looking forward to sleeping on my stomach again. My appetite comes and goes...loving veggies, watermelon, sour gummies, and drinking tons of water!!! Not really wanting any meat again! The pressure down below is intensifying and bathroom visits are at an all-time high, sometimes I’ll go, stand up, and have to go again! My boobs are huge, my belly is huge, it’s so hot outside and I kept stressing that my water might break when I’m out in public somewhere!!! I’ve been trying to stay busy with some house projects and making sure everything is ready for baby’s parents to be back here with us in just under 2 weeks now but I’m also making sure I rest and put my feet up when I can!
